Hama is an important city in northern Syria, and our members there organized a special activity for 100 Hours of Astronomy. Mr. Hassan Hajj Ibrahim started the activity in the New Cultural Center of the city with a prominent lecture about stars which hold Arabic names, such as Deneb, Rigel, and Aldebran, with an explanation of some stories of the constellations.
Afterwards three telescopes were mounted in the yard of the center so that people can look through them. About 36 people had their first look through the telescope.
We leave you with a photo summary of the event. Click on any image to enlarge it.
