100 Hours of Astronomy: Saturday 4 April

Date: Saturday 4 April
Time: 19:00 - 23:00
Venue:

Appliance Assad School – Der Azor

Activity: Starparty

Der Azor is a major city in north-eastern part of Syria. Our members their held a distinct activity which was marked for participation of a large number of people. The activity was in Appliance Assad School in coordination with Tala’e Al Bath, an organization for kids and youth.

The star party included observation of the moon, Saturn, and Orion nebula with many telescopes. We described the constellations and prominent stars, and we answered the questions and inquiries of the audience.

The activity has also witnessed the launch of “The Young Astronomer” program, which is directed to children in the north-eastern part of Syria. At this night around 300 persons had their first look through the telescope.
